Well, it seems like we haven't moved forward that much or that things are coming back around again. First we had a lightening storm that blew out some of the network infrastructure and a few parts in some of the computers. We fixed that and a couple of days later another lightening storm came through and blew out a couple of other things.
Second, we try to upgrade a server to a new version and it doesn't apply well, so we have to regress back to the version that was installed before.
Next, we receive the following from the official communication channel:
An update on the employee issue: . . .
1. The dialogue with the Employee Association is at a critical point; please continue to pray for the process. The New Directiva has submitted a proposal and we are in the process of writing our counter proposal. Pray that we would move forward with wisdom.
2. The New Directiva has not yet been recognized as "legal" by the Ministry of Labour. However, the former Directiva also has not been recognized as legal. This has created a tense situation for the Association. Pray God will grant them patience and insight as they maneuver through these difficulties.
3. The Association is feeling pressure from a variety of sources. The Ministry of Labour is urging them to present a contract, their membership is also eager to see something on the table. There are still some in the Association who continue to be loyal to the former Directiva. Pray for the New Directiva with whom we are dialoguing that they would be able to provide the leadership their members need and at the same time respond appropriately to the stresses upon them.
So it seems like we are back where we were three months ago with that situation.
As to our looking for a car, that too seems to be spinning its wheels too. We keep checking on the opportunities and we keep hearing that they should come out in "a week or two".
The new news is that Pauli is progressing with the idea of organizing a young mothers' Bible study. Please continue to pray for this. Steve is also heading for an international conference for missions IT folk. Pauli continues to talk with and take the opportunities presented to talk with Maira about God.
The other news is that the computer (IT) department is losing one missionary who is going on home assignment for about a year and another who is leaving the mission to return to the States. Please pray for those left that the work wouldn't be overwhelming for them.
