End of Year Update

After serving God through HCJB Global mission organization for almost 10 years, we are transitioning to a partner ministry, World Radio Network. This Christian radio ministry focuses on reaching the Spanish-speakers along the United States and Mexico border region. Since licenses for Christian radio stations in Mexico are rarely issued, WRN can broadcast programs reaching at least 40 miles on each side of the border. This border area is estimated to soon have 20 million Spanish-speaking people living within this region, a population larger than many countries of the world. Steve worked with WRN the year we were on our last Home Assignment.

On January first of 2010 we will be officially with World Radio Network, also known in Spanish as Radio Cadena Manantial (RCM). RCM provides Christian Spanish programming via satellite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The mission, headquartered in McAllen, Texas, is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission involved primarily in radio broadcasting.

The mission is to–
Honor God through Spanish media ministries that will:

• Communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ to non-Christians.
• Nurture, strengthen and build Christ's church through teaching the Word of God.
• Serve our host communities with programs of information, education, inspiration and community service.

Steve will be responsible for the Information Systems in the western half of the region from El Paso, Texas through Yuma, AZ. This will require traveling for Steve to the various sites as well as work from his office in Arizona. Pauli will be in charge of the home and kids while waiting to see how the Lord might use her in ministry in this new location. She is already part of a Ladies’ Bible Study with friends we made at the church here during our previous home assignment. We also are involved with a Small Group Bible study in our home, and the girls are active in Awana. Keilah (second grade) and Kendra (kindergarten) started school on August 5th here in Arizona, and have begun to reconnect with their friends from before and to make new friends in our new neighborhood. They, along with Kyle ( 3 years old), are having fun with their McCracken grandparents and cousins (Steve’s sister’s family who live in Tucson).

God has shown His hand through the situations of the past few months as we’ve made the move from Ecuador to Arizona. We knew that He was with us in the midst of everything, and leading us each step of the way. We want to thank God for his working in finding housing for us. Please thank God with us in the sale of our townhouse in Quito. He also has opened up the door for us to own a house in the Green Valley, Arizona area, close to Steve’s parents and friends we made during our last home assignment 3-4 years ago. We now have a guest room for any of you traveling to or through southern Arizona.

Financial and Prayer Support
We have appreciated your support and prayer over the years that we’ve been attached to HCJB. There have been various inquiries about our continued financial support. At our new organization (www.worldradionetwork.org), we will be needing financial support as missionaries to the border region.
