We don't get tired of thanking you as part of our team for your prayers and financial support. God's faithfulness shows itself each day through you and your generosity. We pray God's blessing on you and for his continuing provision for each one of us.Though the summer passed rapidly starting with swimming lessons to vacations and extended family visiting from Ecuador, the heat of the Arizona summer is just now beginning to cool down with the last of the three digit temperatures now past. Pauli is now officially a "soccer mom" as Keilah and Kendra have started soccer this fall. I don't think we realized how much "busy-ness" that would bring into our lives with five days a week having either a practice or a game. We thank God for the opportunity to participate and to get to know other families through this, though we pray for wisdom in what opportunities come. Steve continues to support the stations along the border and has been going more often down to Nogales lately to test different configurations of hardware and software for the automation systems to help save costs in the future. Pauli continues to make the house a home and to serve in the Nursery at the church. She is also enjoying Kyle at home in the mornings while Keilah and Kendra are in school. From the listeners...NEHEMIAS AKE [An on air personality in Laredo, TX] received a call from a drug dealer, who had been feeling uncomfortable [about his lifestyle] and wanted to change. He spoke with Nehemias for quite a while, and Nehemias put him on the prayer list. One shocking thing he stated was: "I may die because of this decision, but I don't want to sell drugs anymore. By leaving I am putting my life in danger." So far, weeks have gone by and he has not called us. | |
Yes, we speak Spanish.Pauli has been asked to translate the script for the church Christmas play into Spanish and we, as a family, have been asked to participate as a family of Spanish speakers.Pauli has also been presented with the opportunity to help lead a Spanish Bible study in a shelter for abused women. Steve has been asked to help out at a church food distribution program to have someone there who speaks Spanish. We ask that you pray along with us for the opportunities to expand God's ministry into the Hispanic population in the area. | OpportunitiesAs we have mentioned about getting to know the families in the neighborhood, our girls have invited the kids of a family we are getting to know as they go to AWANA (About AWANA). The family attends The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The thing is that the club is full unless they have more leaders, so Steve is thinking about getting involved as a leader so there will be room for these kids to learn more about God and his love. Pray that the Holy Spirit will be working in us and in this family to draw them to him.We also have the opportunity to go with a group to Nogales in Mexico to help pass out food staples and share with some believers on the other side of the border on October 16th. Pray for safety and for the love of God to shine through us. |
